Changing or stopping emails

MindstackApp sends at most three kinds of message: a verification code when you sign up, an optional daily reminder about items you have not tagged, and an optional weekly summary.

Both optional ones are controlled in the app under Settings then Reminders, where you can change the time, choose the day the summary arrives, or switch either off.

To stop them without opening the app, use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any reminder or summary email. It works in one click and needs no sign in. It stops the recurring mail only. Your account and everything you have saved are untouched.

The verification email has no unsubscribe link, because it is the message you asked for by signing up. It is not marketing and there is no list to leave.

Verification code did not arrive

Codes expire after 30 minutes. Check your spam folder, and make sure the address you typed is the one you are looking in. Requesting a new code invalidates the previous one, so always use the most recent email.

How tags work

Tags are global. One tag applies to photos, links and notes alike, so there is no need to create the same tag three times. The Images, Links and Notes views are filters over what a tag currently holds rather than separate sets of tags.

Anything with no tag sits in the Waiting List until you file it. Deleting a tag never deletes what was in it. Those items simply return to the Waiting List.

Scanning text from a photo

Text recognition runs on your own device, so it works offline and the image is not uploaded for that purpose. On Android the recognition model is downloaded once the first time you use it, which needs a connection on that occasion only.

Getting your data out

Settings then Export my data produces a complete copy of everything you have saved, as JSON or PDF. You do not need to ask us and there is no waiting period.

Deleting your account

Settings then Delete my account erases your account, every item and tag, and every photo you have uploaded.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. We keep no recovery copy and cannot restore it afterwards. Export first if you may want your data later. If you only want a break, sign out instead.
